We partner with Christopher House – a not-for-profit serving low-income families in the neighborhood – and donate our harvest to their food pantry.
Food pantries around the country face the challenge of offering fresh foods, which, unlike canned or boxed goods, are often easily damaged and have a short shelf life. We supplement Christopher House’s offerings with organically-raised produce picked the day of the food pantry and delivered just across the street (the ultimate eating local).
Children at Christopher House also help raise a portion of the food that goes to the pantry, giving them ownership over the food their families receive and food knowledge that will help them make healthy choices throughout their lives.
We harvest weekly for the food pantry on Monday afternoons between 3pm and 5pm. We always welcome volunteers to drop by, or if you want to be part of the food pantry service team, drop us a line. We’d love to have you!
